Code of Conduct and Business Practices

1. INTRODUCTION

1.1 This Code of Conduct and Business Practices document is for all students and graduates of Block Therapy Academy (BTA) to provide guidance and direction regarding your actions and activities as they relate to the practice of Block Therapy and any business you create from it. As such, you are expected to adhere to rules and guidelines laid out by Block Therapy Ltd. 

1.2 Block Therapy Ltd. will update this document from time to time and the latest version will be available on the BlockTherapy.com website under Teacher Resources.

1.3 This Code of Conduct and Business Practices document is provided so that Block Therapy Academy students and graduates can achieve the best outcomes for themselves, their clients and Block Therapy Ltd.

2. DEFINITIONS

“Block Therapy” - means the practice of Fluid Isometrics using wooden therapeutic tools created by Block Therapy Ltd.

“Block Therapy Academy” - means Block Therapy Ltd.’s training institution where people can enroll and train to become certified as Block Therapy Instructors, Bodyworkers, Facial Flow Practitioners and Fascia Alignment Coaches. Abbreviated as BTA.

“Company” - means Block Therapy Ltd., the Block Therapy company founded by Deanna Hansen, CEO.

“Code”- means the Code of Conduct and Business Practices adopted by the Company.

“Code Administrators” - means the persons appointed by the Company to monitor observance of the Code and to resolve any complaints under the Code.

“Fluid Isometrics” - means the bodywork practice that utilizes either the practitioner’s hands or in combination with the Company’s therapeutic tools (the Block Buddy, the Block Baby, the Block Paddle), to bring heat into an area and melt adhesions within the layers of fascia, releasing it from the area and thereby promoting increased blood and oxygen flow - both critical to health and healing.

“Instructor”- means a person who has completed the Block Therapy Instructor Training Course and has been certified as an Instructor by the Company to teach Block Therapy classes to clients but does not mean a Referral Partner. An Instructor cannot practice Fluid Isometrics unless they are also certified as a “Block Therapy Bodyworker” and are licensed to touch clients.

“Block Therapy Bodyworker”- means a person who has completed the Block Therapy Bodyworker Training Course and has been certified as a Block Therapy Bodyworker by the Company to practice Fluid Isometrics on their clients but does not mean a Referral Partner. The Block Therapy Bodyworker cannot teach Block Therapy classes unless they are also certified as an “Instructor”.

“Facial Flow Practitioner” - means a person who has completed the Block Therapy Facial Flow Training Course and has been certified as a Facial Flow Practitioner by the Company to practice the facial flow technique on their clients but does not mean a Referral Partner. The Facial Flow Practitioner cannot teach Block Therapy classes unless they are also certified as an “Instructor”.

“Referral Partner” - means a third party individual who has been approved by the Company and can earn commission on purchases by confirmed referrals made by the individual.

3. CODE OF CONDUCT  

3.1 SCOPE

3.1.1 The purpose of the Code of Conduct is to emphasize the sense of responsibility toward the Company and Block Therapy clients by all Instructors, Bodyworkers and Facial Flow Practitioners.

3.1.2 The Code presents the required practices and behaviors.

3.1.3 The Code is to be applied in spirit as well as to the letter, bearing in mind the varying degrees of knowledge, experience and ability of those to whom the Code applies.

3.2 BASIC PRINCIPLES

3.2.1 Conduct and Behavior

You must conduct your practice, classes, and client sessions:

(i) in accordance with the highest standards of quality and professionalism

(ii) in accordance with all applicable federal, provincial, state and municipal laws and regulations

(iii) in accordance with agreements, policies and guidelines established by the Company

(iv) with the values of integrity and client satisfaction (these being the two most valued objectives)

3.2.2 Liability Insurance

You must ensure that you have and maintain a minimum professional insurance of $1 million before teaching paid classes or working with individual paying clients. You need to consider whether the minimum amount required is sufficient for your business. Some insurance providers that can be considered can be found here:

3.2.3 Services to Clients

INSTRUCTORS:

a) Instructors may teach group classes, 1:1 personal instruction, intensives and retreats, both in person and virtually, and should mention at the start of the classes they are a certified Block Therapy Instructor. Instructors can combine and teach block therapy with other modalities they are trained in (example: yoga, Pilates).

b) Instructors may record a live or virtual class and make it available to their students for 48 hours after that class. The videos must be removed after 48 hours (any links must expire) and must not be stored or streamed on social media sites.

c) Instructors are not permitted to create their own content platform to produce Block Therapy online courses, classes, videos, DVDs, memberships or other materials for free, rent or purchase. Any unauthorized duplication, exhibition or distribution of Block Therapy protected content is prohibited.

d) Instructors-in-training must inform their students prior to instructing them that they are in-training and not yet certified. Fees cannot be charged for teaching classes when in training; this is allowed only once you are certified and have obtained proper liability insurance.

BODYWORKERS:

a) Bodyworkers may provide 1:1 personal sessions and should mention at the start of their sessions they are a Certified Block Therapy Bodyworker. Bodyworkers can combine this practice with other modalities they are trained in (example: massage therapy).

b) Bodyworkers are not permitted to create their own content platform to produce their own Fluid Isometrics and Block Therapy (or equivalent) online courses, classes, videos, DVDs, memberships or other materials for free, rent or purchase. Any unauthorized duplication, exhibition or distribution of Fluid Isometrics and Block Therapy is prohibited. Bodyworkers are not allowed to teach Block Therapy classes.

c) Bodyworkers-in-Training must inform their clients prior to practicing Fluid Isometrics on them that they are in-training and not yet certified. Fees cannot be charged for providing this service to clients when in training; this is allowed only once you are certified and have obtained proper liability insurance.

FACIAL FLOW PRACTITIONERS:

a) Facial Flow Practitioners may provide 1:1 personal sessions and should mention at the start of their sessions they are a Certified Block Therapy Facial Flow Practitioner. Facial Flow Practitioners can combine the facial flow technique with other modalities they are trained in (example: facial skin care treatments).

b) Facial Flow Practitioners are not permitted to create their own content platform to produce their own Facial Flow and Block Therapy (or equivalent) online courses, classes, videos, DVDs, memberships or other materials for free, rent or purchase. Any unauthorized duplication, exhibition or distribution of Facial Flow and Block Therapy is prohibited. Facial Flow Practitioners are not allowed to teach Block Therapy classes.

c) Facial Flow Practitioners-in-Training must inform their clients prior to practicing the facial flow technique on them that they are in-training and not yet certified. Fees cannot be charged for providing this service to clients when in training; this is allowed only once they are certified and have obtained proper liability insurance.

3.2.4 Claims and Disclaimers

a) When sharing results, ALWAYS provide the appropriate disclaimer (see d below). Include a disclaimer on websites, social media platforms and any printed documents.

b) The Company’s tools, programs, and services are not meant to prevent or treat any diseases or medical conditions.

c) Do NOT make claims that the Company or the practice of Block Therapy is intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition.

d) Do NOT make claims that could mislead, deceive, or create a false impression about Block Therapy, its products, practice, programs, services.

Please provide the following disclaimer to clients.

“The practice of Block Therapy and Fluid Isometrics is not intended to be a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. This session does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek the advice of your physician or other qualified health providers with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition.”

3.2.5 Using Block Therapy Tools

a) You must yourself exclusively use tools developed by the Company in your practice of Block Therapy and Fluid Isometrics. The only exception is to use a rolled-up towel for some positions if the Block Therapy tools provide too intense pressure.

b) You must ensure your clients are exclusively using tools developed by the Company while in your sessions or at home. The only exception is to use a rolled-up towel for some positions if the Block Therapy tools provide too intense pressure for the client.

4. CODE OF BUSINESS PRACTICES

4.1 SCOPE

4.1.1 The purpose of this Business Practices section is to emphasize the sense of responsibility among independent business owners and to encourage the highest level of ethical business conduct among all participants in the Block Therapy business community.

4.1.2 The success of every independent business rests in the ability of the owner to offer their services in the best manner possible and nurture promising clients. To meet this challenge, the business principles and practices of this Code must be carefully observed.

4.2 BASIC PRINCIPLES

4.2.1 Block Therapy as a Business

a) If you plan to use the practice of Block Therapy, Fluid Isometrics or the Facial Flow technique to create a business and generate income, you are considered an independent business owner. In that regard, it would be beneficial for you to have your own website, business email address, social media accounts and logo for your business branding.

b) You may use the Block Therapy logo to promote your Block Therapy services and Company products on websites and social media, but you cannot use the logo as part of your business name, business logo or have it appear on the header menu of your website or social media accounts.

c) You may use images made available by the Company for marketing your services. These images can be found in the Affiliate Resources section of BlockTherapy.com.

d) The use of AI-generated images depicting anything related to Block Therapy, including but not limited to, logos, tools, or positions, Deanna Hansen or Quinn Castelane, on websites, social media, videos, or any other promotional materials is prohibited. To protect the integrity and accuracy of the Block Therapy brand, only original images featuring authentic Block Therapy tools may be used. This ensures clear, consistent, and accurate representation across all platforms.

e) You are encouraged to develop your own business branding; however, you cannot use the Company’s trademarks in your business branding, including the words “Block Therapy”, “Fluid Isometrics”, “Block Buddy”, “Block Baby”, “Fascia Masters”, “Block Paddle”, Block Therapy logo design, and any additional trademarks developed in the future.

f) You cannot claim copyright to any of the Company’s materials shared with you.

g) You must not alter the Block Therapy logo or other trademarks in any way, unless agreed upon by the Company, in writing.

h) You must not share any content protected information from BlockTherapy.com or BlockTherapy.TV to your website, social media platforms or any other place.

i) You may not translate any of the Company’s materials to another language without express permission from the Company.

j) You are not allowed to use the Block Therapy Academy training material for training other professionals in the Block Therapy, Fluid Isometrics or Facial Flow technique modalities.

k) The Company does not provide business training, website development or social media training. It is up to you to seek out any training you may need in these areas. 

4.2.2 Creating Your Own Videos

a) You may create and share videos of yourself for marketing purposes showing only the practice you are trained and certified in under the following guidelines:

  •  The purpose of creating your own videos is to help you expand your reach, highlight your expertise, attract more clients, and showcase the value of your services by leveraging the Block Therapy brand and resources. This also provides an opportunity to earn extra income through affiliate products that align with your services.
  • There is no limit on the number of positions you are trained in shown on the videos, however, please keep in mind that social media trends are towards shorter videos to get better engagement.
  • The videos must clearly state that you are a Certified Block Therapy Instructor, Bodyworker or Facial Flow Practitioner.
  • The videos can address whatever aspect of Block Therapy you choose. Examples are: problem/issue areas (e.g., back pain, posture, etc.), education on fascia decompression or other Block Therapy related topics.
  • The videos cannot be a recreation of any programs or classes from the membership or Block Therapy Academy courses (i.e. any content protected videos).
  • Where appropriate, the videos should mention that Block Therapy always starts with the belly position, especially for newcomers to Block Therapy. However, it may not be needed for issue specific or other videos where you are combining Block Therapy with other modalities.
  • The videos cannot be sold, rented or downloadable; they are for marketing purposes only.
  • You may choose to include your affiliate links in the videos to promote Block Therapy products and earn commissions.

4.2.3 Websites

a) You are encouraged to have your own website to help promote your services and Block Therapy’s products, programs and memberships using your referral partner links. You are encouraged to vet your Block Therapy related content on your website through the Company prior to publishing to verify it adheres to the standards and requirements. b) Your website must have its own domain and business name. You are not allowed to use Block Therapy’s trademarks for any part of your domain name and website, including the logo. Please also refer to the section above on Block Therapy as a Business.

c) You should indicate on your website that you are a certified Block Therapy Instructor, Bodyworker or Facial Flow Practitioner.

d) You may include a statement somewhere on your site to acknowledge Deanna Hansen as the founder of Block Therapy and Fluid Isometrics, however this is not required. 

e) You may not replicate any pages from BlockTherapy.com or BlockTherapy.tv or use before-and-after images from the Company’s website on your own website. However, images featuring Deanna, Quinn, Block Therapy positions, Block(s) images, and general content about Block Therapy may be used.

f) If you are promoting the Company’s products, programs and memberships on your website using your referral links, it should be made clear that visitors will be redirected to the Company’s website and content. Additionally, it’s important to disclose that your site contains referral links.

g) You must NOT make claims on your website that could mislead, deceive, or create a false impression about Block Therapy, its products, practice, programs, services.

 4.2.4 Social Media Accounts

a) Your social media accounts must have your own handle name and must not include Block Therapy trademarks, including the words “Block Therapy”, “Fluid Isometrics”, “Block Buddy”, “Block Baby”, “Fascia Masters”, “Block Paddle”, Block Therapy logo design, and any additional trademarks developed in the future in social media handles. Please also refer to the section above on Block Therapy as a Business.

b) You must NOT make claims on social media that could mislead, deceive, or create a false impression about Block Therapy, its products, practice, programs, services.

c) You may share the Company’s social media videos on your social media accounts and it is suggested to tag the Company. Content protected videos from the membership, programs or Block Therapy Academy cannot be shared.

d) You may not translate any of the Company’s social media material to another language without express permission from the Company.

5. REFERRAL PARTNER PROGRAM

5.1. SCOPE

The purpose of the Referral Partner Program is to provide an opportunity for Block Therapy Academy members to earn additional income by actively promoting the Company’s products, programs and memberships to your network of contacts in exchange for commission on purchases from your referral.

5.2 BASIC PRINCIPLES

5.2.1 Register as a Referral Partner

Students-in-training and graduates of Block Therapy Academy (BTA) are eligible to join the Block Therapy Referral Partner Program. Below is the link below to register. Please do not share this link with anyone.

5.2.2 Referral Partner Links

To find your referral links, you must be logged into your BlockTherapy.com account. There are 2 ways to access your referral links:

a) Affiliate Resources page: Here is where you will find the most popular affiliate links to share. 

Go to Blocktherapy.com and click Affiliate Resources in the footer. This will prompt you to log in to access Affiliate Resources if you are not already logged in. On the Affiliate Resources page go to Most Popular Affiliate Links. This will give you a list of the most commonly shared affiliate links with your custom code built into the end of the URL. You can copy the URL and paste wherever you want to share it.

b) Referral Partner Centre: Here is where you will find the full list of your affiliate links.

Go to Blocktherapy.com and click Affiliate Login in the footer. This will open a new window for you to log into your Referral Partner Centre using the Username and Password you created when you registered. Once you are in your Referral Partner Centre, click the Link Generator tab on the left side menu. This will open a page with all your links. Just scroll down until you find the product you want to share and then copy the URL on the far right for the product that has your code at the end. You can then share this link with clients or embed it on your website and/or social media accounts. 

 5.2.3 Commissions

a) Referral Partner commissions are paid out once you have accumulated $100.00 or more in commissions by the end of any given month. Payments are made at the end of the following month from the one in which $100 or more was earned. For example, if $100 or more is earned by the end of January, payment for that amount is sent at the end of February.

b) Commissions generated can be checked in your Referral Partner Ledger. To access your Ledger:

1) Go to Bocktherapy.com and click Affiliate Login in the footer or click this link: Affiliate Login

2) This will open a new window for you to log into your Referral Partner Homepage using the Username and password you created when you registered.

3) Once you are in your Referral Partner Homepage, click the My Ledger tab on the left side menu. This will open a window where you can set the date range of the commissions you are looking for.

4) If someone has made a purchase and indicated you as a referral or your link was the first referral link they used, they will show up in your ledger, depending on the date range you select that matches their purchase date. You will see the customer's name, name of referral partner, product purchased, and commission amount earned from that purchase.  If you have any questions about the Referral Partner Program, please contact tammy@fluidisometrics.com.

6. MONITORING AND ADHERING TO CODE OF CONDUCT AND BUSINESS PRACTICES 

The purpose of this section is to ensure there is a transparent and fair process for monitoring and adherence to the Company’s Code of Conduct and Business Practices.

6.1.1 Code Administrators

The Company will have Code Administrators to monitor and ensure adherence to this Code and answer all questions from Block Therapy Academy members relating to any provisions of the Code.

6.1.2 Additions to Code

The Company may at times make changes to the current guidelines and add new guidelines, practices, definitions, or other implementations to make the Code more effective. Any significant changes will be communicated via email.
