The Journey with Cyrus
A Mission to Challenge What's Possible
One of my life's missions is to push the edges of what we believe is possible when it comes to the body's capacity to heal. I'm drawn to opportunities where the story has become, "This is just the way it is," so that belief can be challenged and new momentum can emerge.

I was gifted one of those opportunities through Cyrus, one of the founders of the Holistic Leadership Council, a community I am deeply honoured to be part of.
The Declaration
At our retreat in April 2025, as the event was coming to a close, we gathered in a circle and were invited to speak aloud what we wished to call in, something greater than what we currently knew to be possible. Cyrus stepped forward and shared something profound: he no longer wanted to be a Type 1 diabetic. He was done with being tethered to medication simply to survive.
Understanding the Foundation
Cyrus was diagnosed at age 23, now 45, with three autoimmune conditions: Hashimoto's, Alopecia, and Type 1 Diabetes, all within a six-month period. When I asked if he knew what had triggered this cascade, he wasn't certain. He mentioned a trip to Italy prior to the diagnoses and the possibility of a parasite, but nothing had ever been confirmed.
As he spoke, I approached him and said simply, "I can help." Alignment and identifying restrictions to flow in the body is my specialty, and I could already see where his system needed support to move toward the goal he had declared.
The Work Begins
We planned for me to travel to Florida in September. I brought my videographer, Kenny, to document the work and the real-time transformations so the process could serve as an educational tool for those in my bodyworker program.
Fitness vs. Health: A Critical Distinction
Like many managing blood sugar challenges, Cyrus relied on a daily workout regime and he is highly driven. This is where things can become complicated, because while fitness has value, fitness and health are not the same thing. You can be fit without being healthy.
I see this often in elite athletes who perform incredible feats for years, only to face significant health issues later due to the patterning created by their training.
The Soccer Connection
During one of our conversations, Cyrus shared that he had been a high-level soccer player. I asked how many times he thought he had headed a soccer ball. His estimate was around 5,000 times.
I asked if he had seen the movie Concussion with Will Smith, based on true events involving football players who experienced devastating neurological effects later in life from repeated head trauma—damage that didn't show up on standard scans but was undeniable upon closer examination.
At that moment, something clicked. This could explain why three autoimmune conditions emerged within such a short window of time.
What the "Before" Photos Really Showed
To the untrained eye, Cyrus's "before" photos show peak fitness: defined abs, minimal body fat, strong and athletic. What I see, however, are false walls and false floors created by misalignment and a breath pattern coming from the wrong place.
If his goal was freedom from diabetes, we needed to start at the foundation.

The Pancreas and the Breath Connection
The pancreas, and specifically the Islets of Langerhans, regulates blood sugar. For any organ to function optimally, it needs space and energy. The diaphragm plays a critical role here, it sits directly above the pancreas, and when functioning properly, its rhythmic movement provides continual stimulation and energy to the organ below.
When breathing is restricted to the upper chest, that movement disappears, and not just for the pancreas, but for all the organs reliant on diaphragmatic motion.
This was the core issue that needed to change. And as always with fascia, you can never isolate one area, the entire body is interconnected.
The Intensive Journey
We began an intense journey: 18 hours of Fluid Isometrics over four days. And yes, I worked him hard.
I say that with total love and respect. The breath is always my guide. For some, minimal pressure is all the person can tolerate; going deeper would trigger a stressed breath, which is never the goal. Others can breathe through significant pressure, and this is where the work becomes truly powerful.

Healing Pressure and Breath
The ability to handle intentional healing pressure has nothing to do with how "strong" you are. It has everything to do with your ability to breathe while consciously experiencing sensation. This makes the work accessible to everyone, not just the fit or athletic.
In fact, many people who have lived with chronic pain for years often discover they have an extraordinary tolerance simply because they've had to. Cyrus was one of those individuals. He welcomed the deeper work, and over those four days, I pushed the limits while always respecting his breath and boundaries. This allowed us to create meaningful change in a short but focused window of time.

Cementing the Changes
Following the hands-on work, we spent two additional days blocking—seven hours total—to help cement the changes. You'll hear Cyrus reflect on this in his before-and-after video.
The Path Forward
I'll be returning in May to continue this journey. Healing years of trauma doesn't happen overnight. It's progressive, intentional, and deeply personal—it's about adding in what's needed and releasing what no longer serves.
A New Paradigm
I truly believe we are on the cusp of a new paradigm, one where people begin to look inward to understand what healing truly means. The days of being told how you feel by scans alone are fading. Of course, modern medicine has its place, but when you know your body through touch, pressure, and breath, you become your own strongest advocate.
You learn how to navigate challenges, and when to reach out for support.
Walking This Path Together
I am deeply honoured to walk this path with you, and profoundly grateful for the community we've built—one grounded in real experiences and real results. There is nothing more powerful than being connected to others who have walked this path before you, serving as guiding lights when you need them most.
Much of what we've been taught about health and healing no longer serves us. It's time to turn inward and listen to the wisdom of our cells. They have so much to say, if only we give them a voice.
