Cellulite & Varicose Veins

When I was young, I beat myself up in the efforts to create a body that looked the way I wanted it to be. I was not concerned about health, only appearance. Not that I was trying to be unhealthy, but my goal of looking attractive and desirable became the focus, no matter the cost. Looking back, I am amazed at how badly I treated myself and thankful that I learned what I needed, in order to create the change that not only improved my appearance, but more importantly, my health.

I continue to learn that understanding how to support the fascia is the key to everything. It is the architecture of the body. The practice of architecture combines both aesthetic and functional requirements. Once we understand this, making this system the point of focus provides both health and beauty for the body.

We are like a building. The walls, floors and ceilings provide the structural foundation. If built from a solid foundation and constructed with strong materials, it can withstand the forces of nature. On top of that, the outward expression of the building is added into the design to make it look appealing and beautiful. It’s the combination of the two that makes the building desirable. If either is lacking, this will be seen in the value.

The fascia was created by the most magnificent architect. It is flawless in its design. However, just like those who manage a building, if not managed well, even the most desirable will show wear and tear and eventually break down. However, if time and attention are put into the upkeep, value can be maintained.

To keep the fascia healthy, you need to understand how it responds when not given what it needs. Gravity and unconscious posture and breathing are some of the main culprits that can impact fascia. Like the building, if the foundations aren’t maintained, the structure tips off balance. There are postural foundations that you need to apply in order to keep the fascia aligned, and to maintain the space between the cells in order to keep the systems flowing. If not, things like cellulite and varicose veins can result.

Cellulite can happen anywhere, but often shows up on the legs. Rooting is the lower body foundation that supports proper lower body alignment. You can watch this video to learn more. When you tip off balance, the fascia must adapt to support you from falling. Like a spider spinning its web, it reaches out to grip onto nearby structures to create stability. In the legs, it grips to bone, and as energy moves in waves and spirals, it creates the dimples that you see on the surface that we call cellulite. Not only does this impact the appearance of tissue, but the grips also act as roadblocks to flow for cells on the other side affecting the entire health of the leg.

Varicose veins can also happen anywhere but are commonly seen on the legs. If you don’t maintain a solid foundation, the shift of your stance creates compression and ballooning. The blood vessels that compress become blocked, forcing the areas that have ballooned to take on more of the load. Over time, this weakens the elasticity of the vessel resulting in the varicose vein.

Both issues are correctable by releasing the grips of fascia that have adhered to bone, by pumping blood and oxygen into the compressed spaces to rejuvenate tissue, and then to strengthen proper foundations. By applying this process, you can allow the fascia to relax and restore cell health. By bringing balance and symmetry into your body, there is no need for the fascia to adapt to gravity’s will.

Starting June 9th, we will be doing a 21 Day Pelvis, Legs & Feet program that will give you all the tools you need to learn to support a healthy foundation and undo what time and unconscious posture have done. If you are tired of trying to figure out how to manage these issues, follow along and feel the support of a system and community that knows how to guide you, and reap the rewards not only changing the appearance of your legs, but also the health of your cells.
