How Block Therapy Melts Through Frozen Fascia

Melt through frozen fascia with Block Therapy powered by Fluid Isometrics

There are many different interpretations of what is going on with frozen fascia as it releases because there are so many beautiful, magical, complex things happening at once. Just watch the life of a living cell to be amazed at the workings of every single one of our cells, as they are in constant motion, performing monumental tasks. It is truly mind blowing, and we take it for granted.

How frozen fascia is created in the body

In order to make sense of the melting of tissue (frozen fascia) you first need to understand that our tissue is stuck together. We, as a population, have been using our physical bodies incorrectly. This has resulted in an internal state in which the connective tissue has had to shift in order to accommodate the continual change in our centre of gravity,  in order to keep us upright. We are literally collapsing in on ourselves at the core. This collapse comes from gravity continually compressing us, resulting in a layering of fascia in the attempt to prevent the body from continuing on its journey out of alignment. As the layers of fascia thicken they create a blockage to blood and energy flow. When that blockage (frozen fascia) has built up as much mass as it can in a given space, the body makes a turn, descending downward in another direction, until another blockage is created from the layering of fascia. Gravity drags the tissue toward the earth, relentlessly. We then become sealed in this forward, collapsed body, and that seal is magnetic. The force that seals it together can be up to 2000lbs/square inch. I don’t know how they test to determine this force, but I certainly believe it. Working with my own restrictions and those for many years on people, I have no doubt the power of that seal.

Proper diaphragmatic breathing is the counterforce

Of course, there must be a counterforce to this because every action has an equal and opposite reaction. The full conscious exhalation of the breath is that counterforce. When we use our machine (or body) as it was intended to be driven, we move through time (we age) without the tissue accumulating the effects of gravity. The breath inflates and lifts us upward. As the diaphragm moves upward in the core it releases the past with each breath.

But, we inhibit this natural inflation. The forward collapse of our core blocks the full upward movement of the diaphragm muscle. The inability for it to fully contract with every breath causes us to continue to fall into our inner space, bulging us outwards.

The diaphragm is our internal furnace

The second function of the diaphragm is to control our internal temperature. It’s like the furnace. If it doesn’t have the space necessary to work fully, the space it is trying to heat remains cold. When we are cooler  blood flow slows down. All cellular actions accommodate this by slowing down their functions and interactions, until any space and life is literally squeezed from them. Poor little guys!

Don’t you feel for them?  What a burden we put on these incredible bundles of life. They need love and kindness, heat and energy, put back into the their environment, in order to wake up and come out of hibernation.

This is where Block Therapy comes in. Think about magnets. When they seal, you can’t pull them apart in direct opposition of each other, because all of those magnetic bonds are strongly in place. To release the seal, you have  to twist, screwing them in equal and opposite directions. Once there is enough space between the magnets, they are no longer attracted together. This is what tissue needs. Space needs to be put back into the dense, frozen fascia, in order to release that powerful magnetic seal.

Warming Up Frozen Fascia

By lying on the Block Buddy you apply pressure over time to the frozen fascia. Combine that with consciously exercising the full conscious exhalation and you have now turned on the furnace. Working with the Block Buddy heats not only the frozen fascia where it is directly positioned, the breathing practice benefits the tissue temperature in the whole body.

As frozen fascia releases and opens to improved blood and energy flow, systems and functions improve. As the diaphragm continues to strengthen, the space that had been compromised begins to inflate. This, in turns gives more room for the diaphragm to continue to strengthen, heating the body’s tissue with every breath. With continued practice comes added space. Remember the life of the living cell? Imagine how much space exists in just one of those little guys. The space is what allows for optimal energy flow, which is required for optimal tissue temperature.

When we understand what has happened to our body and why, and what we can do to get it working properly again, we no longer have to suffer. Pain, deterioration and disease thrive in tissue that is starving (frozen fascia) and gravity bullies weak tissue. To strengthen it to fight against gravity we simply need to feed it.

Block Therapy – The Practice

Block Therapy is a self-care practice that is based on the concepts of fascia decompression. This journey began for me almost 25 years ago, and I am excited to share how it works. I first realized that the effects of gravity in our body could not only be managed, but reversed, by moving into the…

Trust

Trust is defined as the firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of someone or something. Personally speaking, I feel trusting in oneself is one of the hardest things, as we all have behaviours and habits that take us away from our goals. I also feel it’s easier to forgive others when they…

  1. Hey Deanna,
I just wanted to give you a brief update on my work with the Block Buddy.
I started right after the Massage Therapist Conference and have done it almost daily since. I am having a hard time believing the results except I have to believe them because I am living them. My energy, over-all, is amazing and my brain feels clearer than it has in years. I have had a couple of healing crisises but funnily enough I am even excited about those! I have flet my left ribs open up considerably and right now I am dealing with a crisis in my legs and knees but I know it is going to turn out well.
I have been using the block at work and my clients are LOVING it. Together we have had some amazing results. I can’t wait to see you in August but I have to confess I am glad I have another 5-6 weeks to do more work on my own before doing the Intensive.

God bless you and keep doing what you are doing!!!
    Barb
