Fascia Flow for a Healthy Heart | The Fascia Masters, Season 2 – Episode 17
When you are thinking about heart health, you may not have considered how your fascia can play a role. Today's discussion revolves around the intricate conditions of the heart.
The ribcage is so significant in supporting the heart. Understanding the ribcage's flexibility and the space between the ribs reveals its role in absorbing impacts and preventing shattering. However, when improper alignment and a lack of conscious breath enter the equation, the ribcage may collapse, directly impacting the heart's alignment. This compression can lead to conditions such as malfunctioning valves, emphasizing the critical link between posture and heart health.
Posture also plays a very important role in blood and oxygen flow, focusing on the aorta's proximity to the left side of the ribs. With approximately 70% of people being right-handed, the general population has a tendency to collapse more into the left side of the ribcage. The analogy of squeezing and kinking a straw vividly illustrates the challenge the heart faces when trying to push blood through a compressed space, potentially resulting in high blood pressure.
As we unravel the complexities of the fascia system, we can discover the pivotal role the diaphragm plays as the engine that drives a healthy heart. This episode of the podcast highlights the importance of conscious posture and breath, offering a holistic approach to heart health and overall well-being.
